Xfinity vs. Frontier – Who Has The Better Internet Service?

Last Updated on June 17, 2019 by Satish Varre Leave a Comment

Xfinity vs Frontier

We have already compared Xfinity to many of the popular TV & Internet services providers in the US. Today we’re comparing it with Frontier, another well-known name in the world of Internet service providers. So, what happens when we do an Xfinity vs Frontier head to head comparison? Well, keep reading.

Xfinity vs Frontier Internet

Frontier does have TV services but, they are so limited that you cannot get that in most of the places. So, we’re comparing the Internet plans only. We’re also not including any Xfinity or Frontier bundle plans as they include TV plans as well. Here we’ve compared the most common plans available in different areas of the United States. Depending on where you live these plans might be different but the overall scenario will be pretty much the same.

ServicePlanSpeedPrice
XfinityPerformance Starter15 Mbps$19.99/month
XfinityPerformance Plus60 Mbps$29.99/month
XfinityPerformance Pro150 Mbps$44.99/month
FrontierInternet6 Mbps$27.99/month
Frontier
Preferred Internet
25 Mbps$34.99/month
Frontier
Premium Internet
45 Mbps$44.99/month

So, as you can see in the table above, Frontier’s plans are comparatively expensive & the speeds are slower too. As we’ve mentioned earlier, depending on where you live, these speeds & prices may vary but, that won’t change the overall big picture. Right now Xfinity is offering a way better value as of now. Also, there are higher plans but, we have only included the most common plans that are widely used. Overall,

So Xfinity Wins?

Xfinity clearly wins this one without a doubt. Frontier is offering way slower Internet for a higher price so, we actually don’t see many reasons why someone should get Frontier over Xfinity. The only reason that exists is the no long term contract facility of Frontier. So, you can change or stop your plans any month & you don’t need to sign for a one or two-year-long contract. But, for Xfinity, you have to sign in for at least a one year contract to get the above-mentioned prices for the 1st year. If you get a No Term Agreement, the prices increase by $20. At that point, you may have to think again.

But, if you’re going for the 1 Year contract, Xfinity is the best option that you can get. Also, Frontier availability is quite limited too so, it may not even provide service in your area.

So, that was our Xfinity vs Frontier, Internet service comparison. If you have any other doubts or general questions, please drop them in the comments section below.

Fios vs. Time Warner (Spectrum) – Which One To Choose For Your Home?

Last Updated on August 6, 2021 by Satish Varre Leave a Comment

Fios vs Time Warner

When you are getting a new service provider for your Television, Internet & Phone, it’s important that you do not make any mistakes. Otherwise, you have to live with that mistake for one or maybe even two years. So, how to avoid this annoying situation? Well, if you’re comparing between Fios & Time Warner (currently known as Spectrum), the easiest way would be reading our Fios vs Time Warner comparison guide & decide the best one for you. So, let’s get started,

Fios vs Time Warner (Spectrum) Internet

Verizon’s Fios is an all-fiber network which means they don’t have regular cables for anything at all. Spectrum, on the other hand, is Cable based so, when it comes to better internet speeds, Fios goes all the way.

Fios Internet Plans

  • Fios Internet plans start at $39.99 per month & give a standard 100 Mbps speed
  • There is a $59.99 plan that upgrades the speed to 300 Mbps
  • Lastly, there is a $79.99 plan that upgrades it to Gigabit speed (940 Mbps). This one also comes with a started TV pack & phone plan.

Time Warner (Spectrum) Internet Plans

  • Spectrum Internet plans start at $44.99 per month & it also starts at 100 Mbps

Fios vs Time Warner (Spectrum) Television

The TV space is wide too. Here are the Television plans of both networks,

Fios TV Plans

  • Custom: Plans starting at $64.99 per month for the network fixed customized plans
  • Traditional: Plans starting at $74.99 per month for more channels & preferred HD channels
  • Spanish: Plans starting at $49.99

Time Warner (Spectrum) TV Plans

  • Spectrum’s TV plans also start at $44.99 per month.

There are also bundle plans that you can choose from which gives you TV, Internet & Phone altogether. These plans also come with the On-demand Video Streaming services from Fios & Spectrum.

So which one should you choose for yourself?

Fios is no doubt the better options here. It is faster has better options & its basic Internet plan is cheaper & gives the same speed as the basic Internet plan of the Spectrum. So, if you have both options available, get Fios. It’s better.

But, the availability of Fios is kinda limited right now so, first check in your area if their service is available. If not, Spectrum is actually a good option. You can also look out for Xfinity if that’s available. We’ll link the comparison of Xfinity & Spectrum in the suggested articles section below.

Centurylink vs. Xfinity – Which One To Choose For Faster Internet And Better TV Services?

Last Updated on September 18, 2021 by Satish Varre Leave a Comment

Centurylink vs Xfinity

We have previously compared several Internet & TV services with Xfinity. Today we’re comparing Centurylink vs Xfinity which is kind of a different bag. Let me explain that throughout this article. Anyway, if you haven’t read any of the comparisons before, Comcast’s Xfinity is a popular Internet & TV service that is widely available in the US. Century link is also well known but, they’re not as widely available as Xfinity. There are some significant differences here. Let’s discuss that in detail.

Centurylink vs Xfinity – Detailed Comparison

Centurylink vs Xfinity – Platforms & Services

Let’s start with Television. Both Xfinity & Centurylink offer TV services. However, Xfinity actually has it’s own TV services but, Centurylink has partnered with Directv to provide their services instead. Both support on-demand streaming too. Xfinity has its own Xfinity Stream & Centurylink, of course, provide Directv’s on-demand streaming services. Centurylink also has a telephone (landline) service.

Centurylink vs Xfinity – Plans & Pricing

For the Internet, Centurylink offers Gigabit ethernet for $65 per month with no contract. This is something Xfinity doesn’t have. Xfinity’s $65  per month plan actually comes with a 1-year contract. It is also not Gigabit at that price. But, it does bundle it’s TV & on-demand streaming services within that pack while Centurylink is only providing Internet.

Breaking down the plans in further detail, Xfinity’s Internet plans start at $19.99 which has the basic 15 Mbps download speed. The $29.99 plan upgrades the speed to 60 Mbps. Going $39.99 gives 10+ TV channels alongside the 60 Mbps Internet speed. Oh, and I already told you about the $65 plan. There are other bundle plans too that cost more than that. But, we don’t need to compare those here.

Centurylink on the other side currently starts at $45 month for a 40-80 Mbps connection. Make that $55 & you get a 100-140 Mbps connection. And again you know about the $65 plan. The TV service is not included in any of these plans.

So which one should you choose?

We already mentioned that Centurylink is not that widely available as Xfinity. So, you cannot get it in many places anyway. But, if you have both options available, we will recommend Xfinity over Centurylink. Yes, it does have Gigabit Ethernet at $65 so, if that’s the only thing you need, you can consider Centurylink. However they do have pretty mixed feedback about Internet speeds so, you may want to check first with others in your area who are already using their services. A small number of computer users use Linux operating systems compared to Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X users. Linux is, however, embedded in other electronic devices such as TVs, watches, servers, cameras, routers, printers, fridges, and even cars.

Xfinity vs. AT&T – Who Has Better Television Services

Last Updated on June 13, 2019 by Satish Varre Leave a Comment

xfinity vs at&t

When it comes to Television & Internet services, Comcast Xfinity and AT&T are one of the most popular names in the US. They both have their own strengths and weaknesses. But, which one of them is better for you? Well, we’ll find out in this comparison of Xfinity vs AT&T. Let’s break down the whole thing into several parts while keeping the whole thing as short & to the point as possible.

Xfinity vs AT&T – Differences in Platform

Comcast’s Xfinity is a wired cable network. It has Digital Television services alongside fast Internet services & it also has an on-demand Streaming platform. AT&T actually has two different platforms. One is their Directv satellite television platform & the other one is their Uverse cable television & internet services platform.

So, as the number of options to choose from is higher for AT&T, we’ll have to give this round to them. Unlike Xfinity where you’re stuck with only cable television, AT&T is giving you options to choose from either satellite or cable television. However, if Xfinity is available in your area but only one of the AT&T services are available, that could be a different story. In easy words, that can be both a good thing or a bad thing depending on which type of service you prefer. But, overall, AT&T has the edge in this segment.

Xfinity vs AT&T – Differences on Plans & Packages

There is a vast number of packages available to choose from. Let’s have a look at them.

Xfinity’s plans start at $49.99/month (1-year contract). This pack includes 140+ channels. There are two other plans costing 59.99/month (220+ channels) & $104.99/month (260+ channels) respectively. The $104.99 includes HBO, Cinemax & Showtime.

AT&T’s Directv plans start at $35/month (contract of 12 months + 12 months so, 24 months in total). In the second year, the cost rises to $81 per month. This pack includes 155+ channels. Next, there is a $45/month plan that includes some sports channels as well and  185+ channels in total ($110/month in the second year). 1 year of HBO is also included in this pack. Finally, there is a $60/month package with 250+ channels ($135/month in the second year).  It’ll cost $8.49/month extra if you want regional sports (2nd & third package).

AT&T’s Uverse plans start at $19/month (U-Basic) which gives 25+ local channels without HD support. However, there is a $35/month pack (U-Family) that supports HD & 190+ channels. Next, there is a $55/month (U-200, 380+ channels) plan, a $60/month (U-300, 495+ channels) & a $110/month (U-450, 565+ channels). These last three plans come with free HBO for the first year  & the U-450 comes with HBO, Cinemax & Showtime included. Excluding the $19 U-basic, all the other plans actually come with a 1-year contract.

Which one has the better Television service then?

Well, if you want Satellite television then, AT&T’s Directv is the only option here. However, Xfinity’s cable network definitely has way better pricing if you calculate the total 2-year costs of both services. AT&T’s Uverse on the other side clearly has way more content available for Television  & it’s a better value for the money. So, if you have U-verse available in your area, go for it. Otherwise, you can look at Xfinity or Directv (if satellite television is your thing).

Xfinity vs. Spectrum – Which One Provides The Best Value For Your Money?

Xfinity vs Spectrum

Xfinity and Spectrum are really popular names in the world of Television & Internet services in the US. If you live in an area where both of these services are available then, you might be confused about choosing the right one for you. So, how do you choose? Well, no need to do the hard work as we’ve already done that for you. So, just read our Xfinity vs Spectrum comparison & make a decision based on your preferences.

Xfinity vs Spectrum – Comparison Parameters

Differences in Platform and Services

There is no major difference in the platform. Both services are cable based. So, the signal is received in the DVR through cables. No satellite dish antennas like Directv in this case. So, the services should be uninterrupted until the cables get damaged. Bad weather should not be an issue here.

There is a slight difference with service though. Xfinity has services like Television, on-demand Streaming service, Internet services, etc. Spectrum also has Television & Internet services but, it also has an included landline service with Unlimited calling. However, they don’t have a media streaming service.

Differences in Bundle Plans & Pricing

This is where the main differences start kicking in. Let’s look at the bundles here. Xfinity bundles start at $65/month (12-months contract). This includes all the perks like Fast Internet, Television & Xfinity Stream. On the other hand, Spectrum bundles start at $99/month. This includes Internet, Television & Landline service with unlimited calling.

Now, prices are actually different depending on where you live but, we kinda gave you a general idea of how the bigger picture is. Also, you can get these services separately so, you can get just the television or just internet services. That’ll also cost you differently depending on where you live.

If you just want the Internet services, the general plans start at $19.99/month for Xfinity which comes with a 15 Mbps connection speed. However, the 60 Mbps plan costs about $29.99. There is also a $39.99 plan which gives an additional 10+ TV channels alongside the 60 Mbps speed. For Spectrum it starts at $44.99 & the speed is actually slightly better at 100 Mbps.

Xfinity vs Spectrum – Which one to choose?

If availability isn’t an issue, we recommend you set your preferences based on your most important requirements. If you need a dedicated on-demand streaming service then, Xfinity is the way to go. But, if you need a dedicated landline which you can make unlimited calls on, get the Spectrum. Also, consider the other facts line pricing & Internet speeds according to your needs. That’s how you can make a perfect choice.
